Dr. Warren Summer is a graduate of Georgetown University School of Medicine. Prior to his present position, Dr Summer was Associate Professor of Medicine and Critical Care Medicine, The John Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, Maryland. He was also Director of Medical Intensive Care at the same institutions. He has also worked as Associate Head, Pulmonary Disease Service, Bethesda, Maryland, and as Director of the Pulmonary Physiology National Naval Medical Center, Bethesda, Maryland. Besides having more than 130 journal and audiovisual publications to his credit, Dr. Summer has had active NIH grant support and he has received innumerable academic national honors. He is on the editorial board of many peer review journals and travels regularly as a Visiting Professor for Distinguished Lecture Series to academic centers of excellence throughout the country and abroad.
